documentation, promotion and dissemination of knowledge, both
disciplinary and interdisciplinary, through research, project work,
publications- books, journals, reports, study materials, supplementary
study materials, etc.; organisation of seminars, conferences, etc. and
motivation to knowledge seekers in the field of social sciences,
humanities and allied
subjects; v
To provide
academic and professional guidance to agencies, institutions and
scholars engaged in research in social sciences, humanities and allied
disciplines; v To act as a
body to draw attention of
appropriate authorities to socio-economic problems
and engage in their
solutions; v
To act as an
advocacy body to influence public opinion and
ultimately policy for the greater interest of the humanity; v
Creation of
net work of scholars as a
resource pool; v
To study of
contemporary issues, both at macro and micro level from
multi-disciplinary perspectives; v
To engage on
issues relating to climate change and
development tribal and other marginalised groups ; v
An
implementing and evaluating
body of
governmental schemes and programmes as a part of its community
service; v
To conduct
outreach programmes to
create awareness in the community on contemporary issues having
national, local and beneficiary implications; v
An advisory
body, on request, to provide advisory and consultancy services to the
governments- local and state, etc. and governmental agencies;
industries; business houses; and to
non-governmental organisations in the field of social, political,
developmental and any such related issues for the
advancement of humanity; v
Collaboration
with universities, other educational institutions and other
organisations/institutions with similar objectives in such manner as may
be necessary for the promotion of the objectives of the Society; v
Engaging with
national and international level
dialogues of the academics and professionals on pressing contemporary
issues; v
Organisation
of training in advanced
research, courses in research methodology,
project evaluation and impact assessment; v
Organisation
of faculty development
programmes, advanced training to teachers in Universities, colleges and
other academic institutions with a view to improving the quality of
teaching and research in social sciences, humanities and allied
disciplines. v
Promotion of
quality education in school and college, promotion of reading habit of
children, and conduct of
various activities in this regard; v
Establishment
of library; and v
Institution
of scholarships, fellowships, awards,
etc. in furtherance of research and
as a measure to encourage school and college students
and to recognise contribution of
scholars in different fields.
